Holly Hunter is an American actress and producer that is well known by her outstanding performance in films like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter received numerous awards, including The Oscar for her movie Piano. The accomplished actress started her career as an actor on the stage, performing in a variety of Broadway and Off-Broadway projects. Since her primary school years, she was Helen Keller in a play in the fifth grade. Her mumps made her deaf and blind in one ear, but she was determined not to allow that hinder her from becoming an actor. While in college, she took classes in theatre before moving in New York City in pursuit of her goal. Hunter first appeared on Broadway through a chance encounter together with Beth Henley, a playwright. They collaborated in Broadway Crimes of the Heart. She was then moved from New York to Los Angeles and tried to land the roles in films. The film, Swing Shift, she landed a role as a support. The actress has appeared in many film, television and movies over the course of her professional career. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame actor and was awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
