Holly Hunter is an American producer and actress who has been recognized by her highly commendable performances in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter won many awards which included her first Oscar for her movie Piano. She began her career as an actor on Broadway and Off Broadway. Enthusiastic about acting from her childhood, she performed Helen Keller in a play in the fifth grade. The actress was deaf in one ear following a bout of mumps but did not permit this to deter the determination of her to become an actor. As a teenager She studied acting before moving into New York City. Hunter met Beth Henley by chance in an lift. Together, they wrote Broadway Crimes of the Heart. It was Hunter's acting debut. Her first film role came following her move to Los Angeles. In the three decades since she was a part of the film she has appeared featured in a variety of series and television films. Holly Hunter won a star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as well as the Women in Film Lucy Award.
